David C. Nichols is a freelance arts journalist, reviewer and interviewer, specializing in arts, theatre, opera, film and cultural commentary. He has regularly contributed to the Los Angeles Times since 2002, and has also been a critic for Back Stage.
David joined the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for 2005.
He was theatre critic for IN/LA from 1998 to 2002, and was a frequent contributor to L.A. Stage, where his interview subjects included Tim Robbins, David Hyde Pierce, Jeremy Sisto, Julia Sweeney, and Culture Clash. His work has appeared in La Brea Living, Performing Arts, Sondheim Review, Variety and Third Eye Film Society, among other outlets.
